Recently, the first metal powder laser selective sintering 3D printer in the province, developed by the Additive Manufacturing Technology Center of Qingdao Aviation Technology Park located in Shibei District, has successfully passed the acceptance test by China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC). This advanced machine integrates power, electricity, and intelligent control into one system, achieving full localization of its control software. It can produce parts as large as 450×450×500 millimeters, placing it at the forefront of similar equipment domestically.
The AVIC Qingdao Science Park Additive Manufacturing Technology Center was established through a collaboration between AVIC Qingdao Outpost Precision Machinery Co., Ltd., AVIC 625, and Qingdao University of Science and Technology. As of April this year, the platform has already secured approximately 5 million yuan in printing orders from key industries such as aviation, aerospace, and China National Nuclear Corporation. Looking ahead, the center aims to accelerate process development, further expand its capabilities by creating larger specialized 3D printing equipment, and establish a production base capable of manufacturing 100 units annually for laser-based additive manufacturing systems. These efforts are expected to significantly enhance the region’s technological competitiveness in the field of 3D printing.
