Project Overview
After years of experience in education informatization, the Zhuhai Municipal Education Bureau has initiated the construction of the "two platforms" project, aligning with the key indicators set during the 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans. The initiative involves building a city-level and district-level teaching video application cloud platform, integrating high-definition recording and broadcasting systems installed in schools. All high-quality teaching resources are collected into the cloud, promoting collaboration and sharing of video content across the city, supporting the development of young teachers, and enhancing overall teaching quality.
Project Requirements
Based on the existing education metropolitan area network, the Zhuhai Education Bureau aims to transform conference rooms into multi-functional spaces for video conferences, live classes, and professional assessments. This will reduce the time and resources spent on daily supervision and improve management efficiency. A city and district-level education information platform is being established to seamlessly connect with most schools' recording and video resource management systems. The goal is to support large-scale live broadcasts, distance learning, and interactive teaching and research. Existing video resources are being imported, managed, and shared, creating a sustainable cycle of high-quality educational materials.

Three-Level Platform Application
Solution
Several top schools in Zhuhai, including Zhuhai First Middle School and Zhuhai No. 2 Middle School, have already implemented high-definition recording and broadcasting systems. As the number of such classrooms continues to grow, the Education Bureau has adopted a distributed recording solution to manage equipment spread across different locations efficiently.

Ovia’s Single Recording Classroom Topology
The platform uses a distributed design that supports unlimited access and separation. Schools directly connected to the municipal platform, while district schools first connect to their local platform before linking to the city level. This ensures seamless integration with most schools’ recording and video resource management systems. High-definition classrooms are integrated into regional resource centers, allowing schools to share and collaborate. Once built, the system automatically uploads and archives recordings, forming a large-scale video resource center with multi-level deployment and integration.

Implementation Functions
1. **Network Interactive Teaching and Research**
Supports teaching and research activities, classroom observations, and video interactions. With simple event initiation and real-time interaction, it enables “desktop†online teaching and research. The platform supports over 100 classrooms simultaneously, integrating live classroom screens, teacher and expert audio/video signals, and enabling real-time discussion. Text-based communication is also available for users without video access. After the session, a detailed report is automatically generated for review.
2. **Large-Scale Live Broadcast of Open Classes**
Enables schools to broadcast high-quality open classes to other campuses via the internet. Each live class can handle at least 350 concurrent viewers with less than 1 second delay. Optimized streaming media technology reduces bandwidth pressure on the network center.
3. **Professional Evaluation**
In 2014, Zhuhai held a micro-class selection event. Teachers used virtual slicing or physical trimming to create micro-courses, contributing to high-quality resources for Haizhu District. The platform supports evaluation activities around participants’ videos, with experts organizing tasks and scoring. Teachers can remotely review and comment on lectures. Post-event, the system automatically ranks participants based on scores and rules.
4. **Hierarchical Domain Management**
Schools with HD recording systems automatically upload resources to their district platform, while municipal schools upload directly to the city platform. Resources are categorized by teacher, subject, course, etc., and can be customized. Users can set video visibility as private or public, protecting intellectual property. High-quality resources can be submitted to the city platform, creating a collaborative sharing ecosystem.
5. **System Management Module**
The platform features a front-end portal and a secure back-end management system. It supports user import, group management, and role-based permissions. Teachers and students from each school can register and maintain their own information, ensuring efficient and secure administration.
