Method for high-low temperature damp heat test of communication electroacoustic device

Hygrothermal testing is an essential environmental test method for communication electroacoustic devices to ensure their reliability and performance under extreme temperature and humidity conditions. Below are two commonly used hygrothermal test methods, as outlined in the SJ 20128-1992 standard titled "Environmental Test Method for Communication Electroacoustic Devices."

Method 1:

  1. Place the unpackaged test sample in a high-low temperature damp heat chamber at an initial temperature of 30°C. Raise the temperature to 60°C over a period of 2 hours, while increasing the relative humidity to 95%. Maintain this condition for 6 hours.
  2. Gradually lower the chamber temperature back to 30°C over 8 hours, ensuring that the relative humidity remains above 85% throughout the cooling process.
  3. Once the temperature reaches 30°C, increase the relative humidity to 95% again and maintain it for another 8 hours.
  4. Repeat the entire cycle (steps 1–3) for a total of 5 or 10 cycles, depending on the product requirements.
  5. After completing the test cycles, remove the sample from the chamber. Conduct all specified tests within 5 minutes after removal, and repeat the tests after a 2-hour recovery period. The results must meet the criteria outlined in the detailed product specifications.

Method 2:

  1. Place the unpackaged test sample into the chamber at room temperature. Increase the temperature to 40°C at a rate of no more than 10°C per minute, and adjust the humidity to 95%. Allow the sample to remain at this stable temperature for 96 hours.
  2. After removing the sample from the chamber, perform the required tests within 5 minutes of removal and again after a 2-hour recovery period. All test results must comply with the product specification requirements.

These hygrothermal test procedures are crucial for evaluating the long-term durability and performance of communication electroacoustic devices under harsh environmental conditions. They help identify potential weaknesses and ensure the device can operate reliably in real-world scenarios.
