Inside an eighteenth-century palazzo nestled in the heart of Milan, architect Vincenzo De Cotiis has transformed his apartment into a masterpiece of modern design. The building itself is a marvel, exuding character from its contemporary aesthetic, while De Cotiis’ meticulous work has brought it to life with a blend of rawness and brutalist elegance.
This spacious flat spans 300 square meters and is located in a hidden corner of the Magenta district. Walking through its doors feels like stepping into a monumental yet livable sculpture. The walls, once covered in layers of paint and paper, have been stripped down to their original state, revealing a warm and inviting atmosphere thanks to decades of sunlight exposure.
De Cotiis’ signature style is evident in every corner of the apartment. The colors, bleached by the sun over decades, create a warm and welcoming environment. This reflects my love for textures, organic forms, and light.â€
The contemporary artist’s approach is deeply personal. He avoids following trends, instead focusing on creating spaces that reflect individuality and authenticity.
